The nuclear disaster of Chernobyl has marked a point of great change regarding the consideration of nuclear energy. 

On 26 April 1986, the reactor 4 of the nuclear power plant exploded letting out a large amount of radioactive vapors.
The explosion itself was not catastrophic but the radioactivity of the gas was responsible for numerous human losses over the years. According to the official UN the confirmed deaths would be 65 and the alleged deaths due to Radiation

during the next 80 years would be about 4000. Greenpeace says that the number might be around 60 million! 

The incident was caused by many different factors which have been investigated for years because there were a lot of responsibilities for what happened, from the carelessness of the technicals to some malfunctioning of the system.
