In the 19th century, the 'Crookes tube' was a device used only in laboratory which was later reworked by Ferdinand Braun. This version of the so-called 'CRT' was used by the scientist Boris Rosing in 1907 in an experiment for receiving a video signal that was drawing an image. During this experiment, Rosing was able to display simple geometric shapes on the screen and this time is regarded as the birth of the TV!
The first television product was marketed by Telefunken in Germany in 1934.
