Adolf Hitler's death

While the Allied forces advanced towards Berlin, Adolf Hitler was in his bunker with the wife Eva Braun that he had married the day before.

In order not to be captured alive, Hitler committed suicide, and so did his wife, having first expressed his desire that their bodies were burned after dead. Eight days later, on 8 May 1945, the World War II ended with the surrender of Germany.
About 25 years later, the body was exhumed and then cremated because in the Magdeburg area (right where his remains were buried) a residential complex was to be built. It seems that his ashes were thrown into the Elba river.
