In fact, the users who purchased the Apple I were mostly electronics hobbyists, which can assemble by themselves their PC.
The curious thing is that, at that time, it was very difficult to find parts for assembly because the PC market was in its infancy, so users often built their 'case' (the outer box of the computer) using wood!
Today, there are very few examples of Apple I: in 2012, in New York, one of the last functioning examples was sold for $ 374,000!
