The Declaration of Independence lead to the birth of the Federation of the United States of America.
On the evening of July 4, 1776, the 'Commission of the Five' composed by Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Robert R. Livingston and Roger Sherman, met in Congress in Philadelphia to sign the historical document in which thirteen British colonies on the Atlantic coast of the North American declared their independence from the motherland.
The original document is kept in the National Archives in Washington and although it is almost completely illegible, it is exposed to the public along with the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights to the United States in the famous hall 'Rotunda'.
